Noise Map of Galápagos: Science to Protect Biodiversity
We monitor environmental noise and educate the community to reduce human impact on Galápagos biodiversity
About Us
Our Initiatives in Galápagos
Acoustic Monitoring
We promote talks, training sessions, and educational campaigns to help the community understand the impact of noise and encourage responsible tourism.
Noice Map
First Traffic Noise Map in Galápagos: Science, Law, and Education to Protect the Environment.
Monitoring stations
Real-Time Noise Monitoring Stations in Galápagos: Technology and Education for Environmental Protection.
We are implementing four online noise monitoring stations in Baltra, Puerto Ayora, Charles Darwin Avenue, and Tortuga Bay to track noise levels in real time. Equipped with advanced software and AI, these stations send automatic alerts when noise exceeds legal limits, providing authorities with accurate data while supporting educational programs for schools and the community. This initiative strengthens environmental management and helps raise awareness of the impact of human activities on the islands’ ecosystems.

The first
First Noise Map in Galápagos
With the support of Galápagos Life Fund (GLF), we began developing the first Noise Map of Puerto Ayora and Baltra, using the international CadnaA software and ISO17025-accredited measurements.
This project sets a historic precedent in the islands: a scientific and legal tool that will enable authorities to regulate noise pollution and protect biodiversity in urban and coastal areas.
